Calgary SE Inner City
The inner city area of the SE quadrant is bordered by the Glenmore Trail in the south, the Deerfoot Trail in the east, Memorial Drive in the north and the MacLeod Trail in the south-west. Within this inner sanctum, there is a wide variety of homes available, in particular single family units. The further into the heart of the SE inner city you venture, the more properties such as townhouses and condominiums you will see.
Calgary SE Inner City: Schools
The Calgary Board of Education is currently responsible for 42 schools in the Se quadrant of the city, with the majority of these establishments being deemed as part of Area IV of the board's system. Several of these schools are designated to solely teaching students who require additional support with their learning. The Calgary Catholic Schools District has 25 schools in the quadrant, which range from Elementary establishments to High School institutions.
Calgary SE Inner City: Shopping, Dining & Recreation
The majority of the individual neighborhoods within the SE sector have their own small shopping strips, plazas or malls, making it convenient for everyday shopping for the residents. Larger stores, boutiques, retail outlets, coffee shops and restaurants can be found in certain area such as International Avenue in the community of Inglewood, which lies in the north of the quadrant.
It is easy to get back to and enjoy nature in the SE as there are a range of parks, nature reserves and green spaces to enjoy. Residents can visit the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, Calgary Zoo or the Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery. Many parks are situated within the various neighborhoods including Manchester Park, Ramsay Park and Chapala Park.
Calgary SE Inner City: Transportation
The inner city communities in the south-east enjoy great transport links with the rest of the city. The C-Train has three stops here which are Chinook Station, 39th Avenue Station and the Erlton/Stampede Station. The Calgary Transit public bus service makes several journeys through the communities, allowing easy access to the Downtown area. Drivers will find many major roadways on their doorstep to get to other parts of the city such as the Blackfoot Trail, the Deerfoot Trail and Ogden Road SE.

Calgary SE Outer Suburbs
Calgary's city limits on the south-eastern side, the Macleod Trail, the Barlow Trail SE and the Glenmore Trail SE are all boundaries for the outer suburbs of the SE quadrant. Most of the homes in these communities offer lakeside living, along with the opportunity to experience outdoor, rural life with all the amenities you require of a large city within easy reach. With an emphasis on greenery, outdoor space and recreation, investors spend a lot of time seeking out re-sales of the homes in these suburbs. For lakeside living at its best, you cannot miss the opportunity to gain a property in Lake Bonavista, Lake Midnapore or Lake MacKenzie. If you prefer, you can still find lots of water activities as the Bow River flows freely through several of the outer communities in this quadrant.
Calgary SE Outer Suburbs: Schools
The majority of the educational establishments in the SE quadrant are categorized as Area IV in the Calgary board of Education's system. They operate 46 schools, from Elementary Senior Schools, which cover both SW and SE communities. There are a further 25 schools in the area under the supervision of the Calgary catholic School District.
Calgary SE Outer Suburbs: Shopping, Dining & Recreation
The outer suburbs of the SE quadrant are rich in opportunities for outdoor activities. Homes next to the large Fish Creek Provincial Park are very quickly snapped up by investors as it is possible to enjoy many activities there including swimming, fishing and sailing. The park also has a learning center which is popular with both children and adults. Communities such as Lake Bonavista and Lake Mackenzie also have artificial lakes which are perfect for a range of watery activities. Inglewood and Mackenzie Meadows also have golf courses for those who like a round or two. There are many more parks and activities throughout the outer communities including opportunities to participate in soccer, tennis, skating and hockey.
Areas such as Midnapore, Lake Bonavista and Mackenzie Towne are great for shopping. Many of the neighborhoods have their own strip malls and plazas but these areas have large shopping centers to enjoy. There is also easy access to shopping outlets such as Deer Valley, Shawnessy Village and the Southcenter Mall in Willow Park.
Calgary SE Outer Suburbs: Transportation
Transport links in the outer suburbs of the SE quadrant are second-to-none, with several ways to get to other parts of Calgary. Route 201 offered by the C-Train has several stops situated on the MacLeod Trail. The Calgary Transit public bus service also has several routes that cover most of the communities that are classed as outer suburbs in this part of the city. Drivers have a good selection of major roadways on their doorstep in order to reach other parts of Calgary such as the Deerfoot Trail SE, Sun Valley Boulevard SE and the Bow Bottom Trail SE.
