The newer community of Greenview lies in the north-western quadrant of Calgary and was part of the older community of Thorncliffe until it became a neighborhood in its own right in 1991. Greenview is bordered to the north by 64th Avenue, to the east by the Deerfoot Trail, to the west by 14th Street and to the south by McKnight Boulevard. The neighborhood has its own community association (which it shares with Thorncliffe and New Haven) and is represented in the Calgary City Council by Ward 4.
