Briar Hill Real Estate
The older community of Briar Hill lies in the north-western quadrant of Calgary and is one of the inner city neighborhoods to be found there. The land on which the community now stands used to belong to a prominent family, the Reilly’s, who had a homestead on the land since 1888. The land was divided in 1906 and was integrated into the city in the same year; but it too until 1953 for Briar Hill to actually become established as a community. Briar Hill is bordered to the north by 16th Avenue, to the east by 14th Street, to the west by the Crowchild Trail and to the south by 19th Street. The neighborhood has its own community association and is represented in the Calgary City Council by Ward 7.
