Stampede Has Kicked Off

Here are just a few of the fantastic events you can check out during the Calgary Stampede:
2011 Calgary Stampede Parade
This annual event features a ton of fun participants, and begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 8th. If you are looking to catch a glimpse of royalty, just make sure you are set up on the parade route on 6th and 9th avenues, or consider getting reserved seating. Rodeo Events
There are a ton of events for livestock lovers, such as:
- Bareback Horse Riding: The world’s top riders strive to stay on their bucking broncos with just one hand!
- Bull Riding: One of the Stampede’s most popular events.
- Ladies Barrel Racing: Hold your breath while these cowgirls take the field.
- Tie Down Roping: How fast can they get that calf?
Rangeland Derby
Nine nightly heats mean plenty of action during these fantastic chuckwagon races. Don’t forget to get a seat for the semi-finals and final races, where 36 drivers and their 288 horse compete for over a million dollars in prizes!! Races start each night at 8 p.m.
Grandstand Show
This nightly event features “Volte” – a pyrotechnic, equestrian, and acrobatic show that will simply amaze you and your family. Don’t miss out on this limited time event! Tickets available at: http://cs.calgarystampede.com/tickets/
