Don’t Delay, Mail Today! It's time to send out your cards Calgary residents
Posted by Carlos Montes on Tuesday, December 7th, 2010 at 5:54pm.Although we’ve been listening to Christmas music and viewing decorations in local malls for over a month, the holidays are quickly approaching. So if you are intending to mail Christmas parcels this year, you may want to know that the Canada Post deadlines for mailing are soon approaching. If you are sending a parcel or card within Canada this year, here are the cut offs to ensure they arrive on time:
Regular Parcel – Dec. 11th
Cards or Letters (out of Province) – Dec. 16th
Cards or Letters (within Province) – Dec. 17th
Local Cards or Letters – Dec. 20th
All international mailing dates have already passed – but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t send something! Mailing to the U.S. is still an option, and the cut off dates are as follows:
Air Mail (cards and letters) to the U.S. – December 13th
Surface Mail (packages) – December 8th
Better get moving, those cards and parcels aren’t going to mail themselves! You also may want to visit www.canadapost.ca for tips and information. Here are a few packing tips they suggest:
- Make sure your contents fit securely and are protected
- Ensure the sending address is clearly visible
- Use packing tape, not Scotch Tape or string to seal the package closed
- Include your full return address
- Try online shipping label options to save time standing in line
Happy mailing!
